User Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Recommend and Share website (the “Site”) and your relationship with Recommend and Share (“we” or “us”).

If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions, please do not register for an account or continue to use the Site.

Use of the Site

The Site is provided to members of the public and the trades to use subject to these Terms and Conditions. By using the Site you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.


We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time and any amendments will be published on this page. If you continue to use the Site after the date on which the change comes into effect, your use of the Site indicates your agreement to be bound by the new Terms and Conditions.


Whilst you do not need to register to browse the pages on this Site, if you wish to leave or receive recommendations or comment you will need to create an account.

To register for an account:

  • You must be over sixteen years of age.

  • You must ensure that the any information provided by you are correct and complete.

  • You must inform us immediately of any changes to the information that you have provided

  • You must keep any user name and password confidential and you must not disclose this to any third party.

  • In respect of Trades accounts you must have the authority to register an account in the business’ name.

Submission of recommendations

By submitting any recommendations or comments via this Site, you agree and warrant that:

  • Any recommendation or comment is true and accurate

  • You are leaving recommendations or comments relating to a personal experience of the subject of the recommendation or comment

  • You are not related to or otherwise connected to the party for whom you are leaving a recommendation and you have not received any monetary or other incentive to leave the recommendation.


We may suspend or cancel your registration immediately at our sole discretion or if we suspect there has been a security breach or if you have breached any of your obligations under these Terms and Conditions.

Your use of the Site

You may not use the Site for any of the following purposes:

  • disseminating or uploading any unlawful, harassing, libellous, abusive, threatening, harmful, vulgar, obscene, or otherwise objectionable material or otherwise breaching any laws or disclosing any confidential information;

  • transmitting material that encourages conduct that constitutes a criminal offence, or otherwise breaches any applicable laws, regulations or code of practice;

  • interfering with any other person’s use or enjoyment of the Site;

  • making, transmitting or storing electronic copies of materials protected by copyright without the permission of the owner; or

  • in the case of use of the Site by a tradesperson you shall not attempt to use the Site to unlawfully access personal information about public users.

You shall fully indemnify us against any losses or costs we incur resulting from your breach of the above matters.

Availability of the Site

Although we aim to offer you the best availability possible, we make no promise that the availability or the information contained on the Site will meet your requirements. We cannot guarantee that the services will be fault-free. Your access to the Site may be occasionally restricted to allow for repairs, maintenance or the introduction of new facilities or services. We will attempt to restore the service as soon as we reasonably can.

Intellectual Property

By leaving recommendations or comments you are grant to us a free non-exclusive licence to use that information in such manner as we see fit. We may copy, transcribe, translate, modify, adapt, and publish any recommendations or comments submitted to the Site.

You warrant that any recommendation you submit:

  • has not been copied from anyone else and is your own original work;

  • it is not defamatory or untrue; and

  • does not infringe any intellectual property rights.

This Site is protected by copyright, database rights and other intellectual property rights. You may read, print and download the information on this Site for your own private use and use parts of the information on this Site for the purposes of review, comment and linking to this Site.

Any recommendations or comments published on this Site have been provided by members of the public and tradespeople. Any opinions expressed are theirs and we do not endorse or guarantee their accuracy.

We make no representation and give no warranty that any information on this Site is accurate, up to date or complete.

We shall have no liability for any loss or damage caused by misleading, inaccurate, out of date or incomplete information on this Site and you use the information on this Site at your own risk, in the knowledge that any recommendations or comments are based on opinion and that you should not rely only on that information when making any decision.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, conditions and terms (except those in these Terms and Conditions) whether explicit or whether implied by statute, common law, custom or trade usage.

Any party leaving recommendations or comments via our Site agrees to indemnify and keep us fully indemnified against all and any claims made by any third party against us in connection with any rating, review, recommendation or comment and other material and information posted or provided by that party, including any and all costs, expenses, losses and liabilities incurred by us in connection with defending or settling those claims.

Applicable Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales shall have the exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or their subject matter (including non-contractual disputes or claims).
